| Installing Marble Floor Tiles is not much different from installing ceramic tiles. There are some tools which one will need and will play key roles in their quest of installing their marble floor. The most common items required are tile nippers, a diamond cutter or a wet saw with a diamond blade; this is used to cut the tiles to specific size particularly for finishing and fitting, a notched trowel which will be used to spread the thin set adhesive and cement, a squeegee is best used to be able to spread cement on to the cracks and secure the tiles in place, and finally some sponges or a burlap rag for cleaning and finishing off any excess cement in the surface of the tiles. The best way to have a successful Marble Tile installation is to first ensure that the surface of which the tiles will be laid on is clean and free from any debris or small rubble. After ensuring this, one should first lay out each tile – just to be able to eye ball the placement of the tiles even if one will be using a common design. There will be portions in the area which will require tile cutting; particularly the ones which is located by the door or on corners. Carefully measure each tile so as to ensure the right dimension prior to cutting. When everything has been measured and cut, apply a thin set adhesive at the base and lay the Marble Floor Tiles accordingly setting one piece at a time. Let it dry overnight and fill the gaps with cement and clean off the excess using the sponge or rag. | |
